President of the Russian Atomstroyexport Company Leonid Reznikov arrived in Tehran on Monday [01 Sep] to hold talks with Iranian officials about completion of the Bushehr nuclear power plant south of the country.
Atomstroyexport is the contractor of Iran's first nuclear power plant in Bushehr which was scheduled to be completed in 2000, but was delayed over the past eight years for sceptical reasons.
According to an agreed time table, the power plant is to be operational in Autumn 2008.
Later in the day, Reznikov and his accompanying delegation are scheduled to travel to the site of Bushehr power plant and start their talks with the Iranian side.
The Iranian delegation would be chaired by Ahmad Fayyazi, managing director of Iran's Nuclear Energy Production and Development Company which is affiliated to the country's Atomic Energy Organization.
Reznikov's visit to Iran is taking place in line with the Atomstroyexport's rotating inspections of the site of the power plant.
