Washington (Platts)--15Oct2008 A US nuclear trade delegation will travel to India in December, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said October 15. Gutierrez made the announcement in a speech to the US-India Business Council's "Green India" meeting held in Washington. Ted Jones, USIBC's director for policy advocacy, later said the trade mission will be headed by Jack Fuller, the president and CEO of GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, and probably will include more than 40 companies. USIBC is organizing the trip in partnership with the Nuclear Energy Institute, Jones said. Similar delegations have traveled to India in the past, but the December trip will be the first since the US and India finalized a nuclear cooperation agreement earlier this month. The pact allows US companies to send reactors, fuel and other nuclear exports to India.
